Sex Offender Checks in Guthrie County
The Iowa Sex Offender Registry is maintained by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. Filter the official site to Guthrie County for countywide results or use a narrower city, ZIP, address, radius, or name search. The registry reports active public information under Iowa Code chapter 692A.

The registry may update as often as every 30 minutes on business days, but DCI still warns that no public system can promise perfect completeness or accuracy. Apparent errors should be reported to law enforcement or DCI for review.
Guthrie County Registry Redesign
Iowa launched a redesigned registry on August 22, 2025. The project added broader search tips, interactive maps, active-registrant and Most Wanted access, personalized notifications, and prevention resources. Those features matter in Guthrie County because a reader can move from a countywide view to a specific city or selected radius without relying on a private map.

The current interface should control over older instructions because menus and account features changed with that launch.
Most Wanted is a noncompliance-focused registry feature. It should not be confused with a general Guthrie County warrant list, which the Sheriff does not publish online.

Guthrie County Registry Watches

For broad awareness, select Guthrie County. For a smaller area, use the current address and radius controls. A watch is a notice to check the official live profile; it is not proof of a new offense. An address change, status change, correction, or record removal can also trigger activity.
Keep the search scope accurate. Panora and the separate Lake Panorama place should not be treated as the same name or boundary. A city or ZIP filter can produce a different set than the Guthrie County filter.
Inside a Registry Profile
Iowa Code section 692A.121 defines the public online record. A profile can show enough identity and offense detail to distinguish records, but some information stays outside ordinary web display. Review the full profile and its flags instead of inferring restrictions from a tier label alone.

Ordinary online display excludes items such as Social Security numbers, fingerprints, palm prints, DNA, victim identity, protected names, vehicle data, government identifiers, nonconviction arrests, and certain school or work-location information.
A sheriff-specific request can lawfully return a different set of fields when section 692A.121 authorizes it. With the required name and added identifier, the local response may include school, employer, temporary lodging, relevant dates, and vehicle information within the statute's limits. That does not make those fields part of the ordinary online profile. It means the public web view and the Guthrie County Sheriff request are two distinct access channels.
Guthrie County Sheriff Registry Requests
The Guthrie County Sheriff at the Law Enforcement Center is the local registration office. Call 641-747-2214 for appointment or check-in instructions. Do not assume the general records-window hours are the registrant verification schedule. Residence and other required changes generally must be reported in person within the statutory period.
Section 692A.121 permits a no-fee named-person request to the Sheriff by telephone, writing, or in person when the requester provides the name plus an additional identifier. The law also provides a countywide list request within its stated scope. This offline route can supply authorized sheriff-request information beyond the standard public profile.

Iowa Registration Levels and Requirements
Iowa tiers set verification frequency, but duration is not a simple tier-equals-years chart. The default statutory period is 10 years under section 692A.106, subject to tolling and special rules. Lifetime categories can include a second or later registration, an aggravated offense, a prior registrable conviction, or a sexually violent predator classification.

A violation can add ten years. Out-of-state obligations, special-sentence terms, revocation, and statutory classifications can also change the period. Use sections 692A.106 and 692A.108 for the live rule.
Guthrie County Residency Flags
Iowa Code section 692A.114 generally applies a 2,000-foot school or child-care residence restriction to a person convicted of an aggravated offense against a minor, subject to exceptions. It does not apply to every person on the registry. The public profile includes restriction flags because the controlling facts vary.

Read the applicable section and profile flag rather than drawing a rule from a map pin alone.
A map is a public awareness tool. It does not determine property boundaries, prove a violation, or replace a lawful agency review of the person's classification and residence facts.

When a listing appears outdated or noncompliance is suspected, contact local law enforcement or DCI. Do not try to verify an address through confrontation.

Registry information supports personal, family, and community safety awareness. It should be checked against the official live source and used with restraint. DCI warns that the data may change and that the system cannot guarantee absolute accuracy or completeness.
Misuse warning: Using registry information for vandalism, threats, stalking, harassment, or assault can lead to arrest and prosecution under Iowa law. Chapter 692A provides the governing registry rules.
Report apparent incorrect or noncompliant information to the Guthrie County Sheriff or the DCI registry unit. If immediate danger exists, use the proper emergency channel. A public profile does not authorize surveillance, retaliation, or vigilantism.
